Thanks very much for the class!  It was extremely helpful in not just helping me remember the mathematical equation for distance to target, foreground/background, and flash setup for apertures but I also had another help.  I have decided that I do really like this kind of photography and wish to actively pursue it more often. I sent Rayna a facebook message thanking her to allowing us to photo shoot her, what a sweet heart.  I would definitely do your class a second time and you were a great and patient teacher.  Thank you!

Outdoor Lighting NEXT DATE NOVEMBER 13 2011 10AM to 6PM morning session at my studio on Nuuanu Avenue in Downtown Honolulu, outdoor location TBA.

Tuition: Seminar: $250.00 Model Fees: $75.00 Total: $325.00 plus 4.712% GET. Ask about Kama’aina, Military and Alumni Tuition Discounts.

A $100.00 deposit is required to reserve your space in the class. Participants are responsible for their own film and processing and/or digital processing.

Taking it to the streets: 8 hour seminar that will emphasize outdoor lighting and photographing models outdoors. Seminar includes a three hour shoot with one of Oahu’s top models. Topics include:

Modifying sunlight
Open shade
Scrims and reflectors
Using strobes
Quality of light issues

Controlling your backdrop with strobes

Inverse square law
Changing the power setting on your strobe
Changing your shutter speed

Combine sunlight with scrims and strobes to create the light you want
Sunsets as a backdrop

Course Notes: This is an advanced level class. Participants are expected to possess a working knowledge of the basics of photography. Participants must be 18 years of age or older. Classes are limited to 10 students and will be held on a Saturday from 10:30 AM to 6:30 PM (The live shoot will begin at 3:30 PM). Bring a lunch and plan to work while eating! (Times may vary depending on when the sun sets).
