Working with Models

Last night’s class was very good and I enjoyed it a lot.  I think there was a combination of things that made it successful:

1) Great teacher – I learned a lot, and I liked the pre-shoot “briefing” because you gave me a lot of great info.  Lots of instruction, but also lots of positive reinforcement.  And this was for everything, from tips on posing, lighting, shooting position, and overall composition.
2) Great model – I’m glad Sharon was really upbeat and funny.  She kept things lively even when we were all (very) nervous.  I think if we had another model, who wasn’t so cheery, then it would have been a much different experience.  The fact that we could all get along helped tremendously.
3) No egos – We all came to learn, and no one was trying to outshine the other.  And everyone was willing to help, so things went smoothly.  Couldn’t have been a better bunch of guys to learn with!
4) Low key atmosphere – Nice to have no pressure.  Sure I think we all had butterflies, but I think once we started shooting we all calmed down.  I felt great after the first few shots, and I was really happy that the shots came out so nice!

Overall I think the class was an A++ and I learned a lot.  I’m definitely more confident, and I hope it shows when we have the next class.  Now it’s just practice practice practice!  Thanks again to you and Sharon for a great class!

Oh…just saw the pictures from Stacey attached.  He did a good job, too!  Steve!!!  You’re a WONDERFUL teacher!  You DEFINITELY are awesome at this photography instructing.  GREAT JOB!  I’m soooooo happy for you!!!
